As part of the “Brain Week 2017 on the Côte d’Azur”, under the theme “Brain and Emotions”, several conferences and debates are scheduled in Nice and its region. On the Côte d’Azur, more than 50 events are organized under the auspices of Université Côte d’Azur, its members and partners, with support from the CASA and the Grasse urban community and in collaboration with the municipalities of Antibes, Cannes, Contes, Grasse, Mouans-Sartoux, Nice, and Valbonne-Sophia Antipolis.

This year, the inaugural conference entitled “When Music Makes Neurons Swing” will be given by Professor Emmanuel Bigand from the University of Burgundy, a senior member of the Institut universitaire de France, who will offer a conference-concert, on Saturday, March 11 at 6 PM, combining Science and Music, at the ‘Le Galet’ Auditorium at the Pasteur 2 Hospital – 30 Voie Romaine – in Nice.

Autism will be highlighted with a cinema-science event, in partnership with the Visiteurs du Soir, which will take place on Monday, March 13 at the Valbonne Cinema. Several conferences will take place at iconic locations on the Côte d’Azur, from the influence of colors on behavior at the MAMAC, an afternoon themed “A Healthy Body in a Healthy Mind” at the Espace Laure Ecard to the Espace Saint Roch, a conference performance on the musician’s brain followed by a concert at Anthéa in Antibes, a discussion around nutrition with a special tasting at Léo Lagrange Hall in Mouans Sartoux, and a conference performance on the dancer’s brain at the Théâtre de la Licorne in Cannes, which will be followed by a performance by the young dancers of the Rosella Hightower Superior Dance School.
