Bruno Gollnisch future FN candidate for the 2014 municipal elections in Nice?

Latest News

The 2014 municipal elections are shaping up to be a fiercely contested battle in Nice. According to Le Nouvel Observateur, the National Front would like to parachute Bruno Gollnisch, one of the historical leaders, into the capital of the Cรดte d’Azur, a stronghold of radical right-wing voting.

If confirmed, this option could be the solution for a single candidacy, whereas, to date, at least three candidates have expressed their intention or availability: Jacques Peyrat (in the name of his party but endorsed by the National Front), Gaรซl Nofri (representing the Bleu Marine coalition), and Philippe Vardon (under the Identitaires label).

Described as the “party’s joker”, Bruno Gollnisch could face Christian Estrosi in the 2014 municipal elections. “He could get more than 20% and reach the second round,” hopes an indiscreet party official.

Bruno Gollnisch, who has spent most of his political career in Lyon, was a candidate in Hyรจres in the last legislative elections.
