The Beausoleil Cรดte d’Azur Sport Film Festival returns from April 1st to 3rd, 2025. This event offers three days of screenings and discussions around sports and their Olympic and Paralympic values.
Organized by the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of the Alpes-Maritimes (CDOS 06) with the support of the city of Beausoleil, the festival is part of the “World FICTS Challenge,” an international network of sports film festivals. Beausoleil is the only French city selected for the 2025 edition.
This year, the festival organizers have chosen to highlight motorsport. The sponsor of this edition is Bruno Saby, a former rally driver. He has won several dozen races, including the Paris-Dakar in 1993 and the Monte Carlo Rally in 1988. “For me, it’s exceptional because motorsport is a beautiful discipline, very popular but not enough in my opinion because it is not in the Olympic Games. And thanks to the festival, we’re going to fix that,” explains Bruno Saby.
For this 4th edition in Beausoleil, the jury responsible for rewarding the best cinematic productions will consist of 6 members. Its president, Renato Tullio Ferrari, representing Professor Ascani (President of the World FICTS Challenge), will be accompanied by former TF1 journalist Bruno Kauffmann. The education sector will be in the spotlight with Madeleine Bellone (President of the university in Beausoleil) and Cรฉline Dervieux (physical education teacher). Michel Laciautre from the Beausoleil film club will provide a keen eye on the cinematographic aspect. Finally, Jean-Bernard Kazmierzak, a sports historian, will complete the jury.
A Cultural and Sporting Event
Screenings will take place at the Prince Hereditary Jacques of Monaco Cultural Center. The public will be able to discover sports films in all their forms for free. This festival is also an opportunity for professionals in the audiovisual sector to exchange ideas and projects.
At the end of the event, a pedagogical initiative will be conducted in the schools and colleges of Beausoleil and the department. A film will be presented to students to initiate a debate and raise awareness among young people about the benefits of sports.
The winners of this 4th edition of the Beausoleil Sport Film Festival will have the honor of participating in the grand finale of the World FICTS Challenge, which will take place from October 7th to 11th in Milan.
