On Wednesday, the Bullfrog store opened its doors in downtown Nice. Better known in Italy and Switzerland, this company is determined to establish itself on the French Riviera, as explained by Matteo Amatruda, the manager of the Nice store.
Why did you decide to open a Bullfrog store here in Nice?
I have been living in Nice since 2014, and I have never seen a place in this city where men could enjoy a full hour of relaxation and treatment. Thus, it was the perfect opportunity to open this type of store, where men can enjoy quality care in a pleasant setting.
After Italy, Switzerland, and Germany, do you have any other expansion plans in the future?
Yes, we are going to develop the brand in the south of France on the French Riviera, particularly in Cannes, Menton, Antibes, and Aix-en-Provence. We are also considering expanding across the rest of France, but one step at a time.
You are a Barber-Hairdresser, but what sets you apart from others?
What differentiates us from “classic” establishments is that we take time; the service is much longer. We spend more time, doing things a bit the old-fashioned way with the application of hot towels on the face, then cold ones, along with different massages as well. It’s a place where men can find time for themselves and relax.
What do you offer exactly?
For an hour, we cut the beard or provide care with six applications of hot and cold towels. We also offer hair and facial care with several massages included in the package. We also take care of pedicures and manicures.
In this difficult time, what are your expectations for your beginnings?
For several months, the situation has been complicated with the Covid-19 crisis. July and August are expected to be somewhat difficult with fewer tourists than expected. However, we are hopeful for the arrival of Italians who are familiar with this brand. The gradual opening of borders makes us optimistic. The French are likely to spend their summer holidays in France, so the arrival of French tourists could be beneficial for us.
