As part of the “Let’s Mobilize Against Bullying” competition, Claire Lovisi, Rector of the Nice Academy, presented the awards to the 8 winning institutions this Thursday, April 17th, in the presence of Catherine Blaya, President of the International Observatory of School Violence, and Marc Mulet, President of the MAE in the Var.

<img43445|left> Organized by the Ministry of National Education with the support of the MAE, the “Let’s Mobilize Against Bullying” prize was launched at the start of the 2013 school year.

This campaign aims to give a voice to young people in schools, middle schools, high schools, and out-of-school and extracurricular structures so they can collectively express themselves about bullying through the creation of a poster or a video, which will serve as a communication tool for the project they wish to undertake in their institution.

Among the 803 nationally, 63 posters and 26 videos were created by 38 schools, middle schools, and high schools from the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var.
And only the 8 best posters and videos by level (school, middle school, high school) were selected by an academic jury of 17 people chaired by Catherine Blaya, professor at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and President of the International Observatory of School Violence.

The Nice Academy stood out for its strong participation in this competition. For the Rector: “Bullying at school isolates the student from their peers, isolates them in their school life.” This project, a true source of awareness, also strengthened teamwork, the creativity of young students, and the spirit of sharing and exchanging in institutions, she added.

The national prize was awarded to the Jean Franco Middle School in Saint-Etienne de Tinée (video, middle school category, 8th-9th grades). Even before the start of the competition, these students were already working on this subject to raise awareness among peers about bullying at school. “We are proud to have made this video, which is a lot of work. Even though they are just images, they will allow reflection on the issue,” they confessed.

An exhibition of all creations has been set up at the rectorate of Nice to showcase the 89 posters and videos made by the students.
