As part of its policy to fight against cancer, the General Council implemented an information and prevention tool in August 2005: the Cancer Information Bus. This bus travels the department’s roads throughout the year to raise public awareness about cancer diseases in their various forms.
Through this initiative, Mr. Christian Estrosi, Secretary of State in charge of Overseas France and President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, aims for all residents, regardless of their place of residence and resources, to have equal access to health information and prevention.
“Handiplage” is part of the departmental plan developed to promote the integration and rehabilitation of people with disabilities. This operation involves organizing sea outings for disabled individuals on adapted boats: three certified trimarans for four people and an old rigging, “La Catalina.”
