In a democracy, one must acknowledge and appreciate an act of courage at its true value. Faced with the “aircraft carrier” Marine Brenier, supported by the powerful electoral machinery of Les Républicains, and the warship of the far-right Michel Brutti who boast of a favorable context, the modest trawler of the socialist candidate risks not weighing much and sinking in the first round. Moreover, a candidate representing the Left Front is announced, which suggests that some defeats are embedded in their genes.
Chaama GRAILLAT has submitted her candidacy to represent the Socialist Party in the partial legislative election for the 5th constituency of Alpes-Maritimes.

This late candidacy is due to the discussions held with Europe Ecologie les Verts to try to have a joint candidacy. Despite our mutual goodwill, the national situation and the positions of our national leaders did not allow it, but I wish to commend the spirit of unity and responsibility of their local representatives who will not present a candidate against Chaama Graillat.
At 53 years old, an activist for 6 years, and section secretary in Nice since June 2015, Chaama will represent the working France in this election.
An employee of a cleaning company, she starts her service every morning at 6 a.m. The contrast will be striking with the Les Républicains candidate, 29 years old and already a multiple office-holder, a professional apparatchik with no real-life experience.
It is from her experience and tireless militant work that Chaama Graillat will defend the government’s record and its encouraging results on unemployment, growth, and foreign trade fronts, and advocate for projects for the 5th constituency.
We are proud of her candidacy, and we will all be by her side to enliven this campaign and create a surprise.
