Between 2006 and 2008, Cabaret – The Broadway Musical welcomed 350,000 people at the Folies Bergères. After creating a sensation at the Théâtre Marigny starting in October 2011, the troupe of about thirty artists goes on tour in France for the first time. The show, conceived and directed by Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall, was a true success in Paris. It received 6 nominations at the Molières in 2007 and 1 in 2008.
Berlin in the 30s
In Berlin of the 30s, a young American writer, Cliff Bradshaw, arrives in the heart of the German capital. There he discovers the Kit Kat Klub, a decadent nightclub where the singer Sally Bowles performs, with whom he falls in love. Their landlady, Fraulein Schneider, wants to marry the Jewish grocer Herr Schultz, but things get complicated in the capital. The city is threatened by the Nazis who are gradually establishing the Third Reich…
Meanwhile, Cliff Bradshaw discovers the social diversity, libertarian ideas, and taboo-free morals of Berlin nightlife.
