On September 7, 2011, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, in the back room of the café “Espace Chaud”, 30 rue de France,
The concept of the “Cafés de la République” is an initiative of the political movement Debut La République and aims to provide an information and communication space for all citizens who feel concerned by the difficulties our country has faced for too many years.
It aims to disseminate to a wide audience the findings and proposals developed by our young political group.
These meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month in a café in the Nice metropolitan area, with the plan to soon replicate them in several localities in the Alpes-Maritimes.
Each session of the “Cafés de la République” is composed of three phases consisting of:
- a concise presentation by a DLR activist of a theme at the heart of citizens’ concerns: financial crisis, insecurity, immigration, education, … ;
- a debate structured as a Q&A session to reduce the apparent complexity of the subject, which is often maintained by the political-media system;
- a briefing on the general political situation and the actions taken by DLR both nationally and locally, in view of the 2012 elections.
The second session of the “Cafés de la République” will be dedicated to Security and Justice, quintessentially sovereign missions of the State.
Despite the security stance displayed over the past ten years by the current majority, crime continues to rise in France: +21% for violence against individuals since 2002!
In light of this observation, only a policy of republican firmness can provide tangible results at the end of the next five-year term.
This is, in any case, DLR’s commitment on the matter.
