Cagnes-sur-Mer: Impressionist Picnic at Renoir’s

Latest News

This Sunday, as part of the European Heritage Days, the Auguste Renoir Museum (located at Les Collettes in Cagnes-sur-Mer) will host an “Impressionist picnic” paying tribute to the artist and his era.

The museum’s park and gardens will be graciously open for this event, which will combine an epicurean moment on the grass with the discovery of the craft of the lace makers of Cagnes, who will be set up under the linden tree to give a demonstration of bobbin lace.

While strolling through Auguste Renoir’s gardens, guests will have the leisure to discover the artistโ€™s farm as well as many early 20th-century vehicles, thanks to the vintage and collectorsโ€™ vehicles association of Cagnes-sur-Mer.

Access to this event is free, but it does require attire from the 1900-1920 period (not mandatory), and participants must be equipped with a wicker picnic basket, a red and white checkered tablecloth, a boater hat for gentlemen, and a floral hat for ladies.
