Cali brings hope to the Nikaia Palace in Nice

Latest News

As the conductor of this marvelous factory, Cali has skillfully married both musically and literarily the fire that burns within him and the water that sleeps in the sediment of his eyes.

Following the success of his debut album ‘L’amour parfait,’ Cali thus continues with his energetic, literary, and personal folk rock and hits the road once again.

Let’s go back a few years.

Although he taught himself guitar, inspired by the lyricism of U2 and the Waterboys, it is primarily on stage that Cali would come to understand the demands of the profession, playing in local bands and dance orchestras.
Marked by indie rock, Cali embarks on another adventure: Tom Scarlett. He sings, co-composes, performs, and writes all the lyrics. The self-produced album is released in 1997.

At the end of this journey, he questions: might it be better to go it alone?
Cali thus writes, composes, and arranges new, more personal compositions in which he features himself. The following year, his repertoire has been enriched with 40 new pieces.

The result is full of nuances, mirroring the writing of Bruno: a unique blend of tenderness and harshness, despair and optimism. We hadn’t heard such a sharp tongue and dry irony since Miossec.
With this unique timbre that breathes both sunshine and wood, Cali heals his intimate wounds with vitriol. Once healed, he sings about love with fervor, this “perfect love” he chases, pretending to believe in it. Because despite his lost illusions, the album ends on a note of hope.
