This museum, unfortunately unknown to the general public, which is a real pity, has sent out a call for help through its creator: Jean Pierre Speidel, “Help me save my museum!” We are more than happy to respond to his request.
His museum is truly remarkable, a kind of Grévin museum where the performance of magicians makes us see what is not, where the automatons are, but in fact, are they indeed automatons? We leave it to you to find out.
The lounge is haunted and it is a paradise for both young and old. Those who have kept their childlike spirit will be delighted there.
Mr. Speidel sees his work threatened today. He must face a recovery plan before July. The rescue of his museum will be through a new conception of its space.
A Belgian chef, Xavier Jockmans, is expected to take charge of the kitchen with an innovative concept: A chef at home. His task will be facilitated by the past of the place, where for the old locals, it was an essential rendezvous (La mère Barale).
The museum director is moved when explaining to us that to avoid this recovery plan, aside from selling the restaurant, he would have to part with some pieces of his own collection of automatons. But he is ready to make this sacrifice to save his museum.
Currently, his museum operates around events: children’s and even adults’ birthdays with private lounges. With his presence at the fair, Mr. Speidel realized how many people were unaware of his museum.
He therefore asks us to help him save it. Which we do willingly by broadcasting his appeal to save the museum of curiosity and the unusual. You will not be disappointed by your visit.
The location houses the largest collection of automatons on the French Riviera.
It is also about shows, workshops, and a restaurant where you can combine the pleasures of dining with amazement.
