As every year, the International Relations Directorate of Nuremberg organizes the “Hermann Kesten” Prize, an important media and literary event for journalists and authors representing Nuremberg’s sister cities.
This year the stay will take place from April 26 to May 10, 2014.
The participant (one per city) will be selected based on application after submitting the required documents written in English or German. He/she will receive a scholarship of €500 and will be hosted free of charge by private individuals in Nuremberg during the duration of their stay.
The theme of the project is “street press,” meaning publications produced by professional journalists and sold by the homeless or poor individuals, similar to the magazine “Strassenkreuzer” in Nuremberg (www.strassenkreuzer.info), a member of the international street papers network (www.street-papers.org).

The application must include:
• A letter explaining your current professional situation in English or German
• A curriculum vitae (can be written in the mother tongue)
• A certificate or diploma proving a good level of German or English
• A photo
• A letter of reference (either from your current/previous employer or from a well-known personality in the cultural world)
