The songs are classic and well-constructed and should satisfy fans and admirers of Calogero’s previous works, as well as Zazie, the author of the lyrics that evoke aspects of today’s world in a “magazine” and “good tone” style we know from her (“Am I clear enough” is a beautiful text on discrimination).
“Pomme C,” which evokes the best of Polnareff (the single), is the track that hooks the most, brings dance and passion, and takes you “into weightlessness”! Calogero reaches vocal heights here, the text is precise and light.
This album, produced by Philippe UMINSKI, entirely written by ZAZIE is, according to the singer, “the one of my albums that resembles me the most, closely aligning with my influences and musical culture.”
He amplifies the rock aspect even more, giving a more “raw” character to his songs. The album title (Pomme C) nicely illustrates the artist’s original and creative spirit, with the apple once bitten forming the letter C… and possibly referring to the games of seduction (or temptation) between Adam and Eve, repeated in the context of virtual love linked to online encounters (theme of the album’s title track). Calogero also tackles themes of racism, time, love, and the feminine condition.
At the age of 36, Calogero is a talented and renowned artist. He has been awarded multiple times as the best Francophone male artist at the 2004 NRJ Music Awards, Male Performer of the Year at the 2004 Victoires de la Musique (etc.), Calogero also participates in numerous charity works. He is part of Les Enfoirés, participated in the Noël Ensemble collective in 2002, sang for Sidaction with his friend Jenifer and recently took part in the single “Douce France,” a cause led by Marc Lavoine aimed at combating discrimination and helping young people find work.
