Camille and Clément have been immersed in swimming from a very young age. The moment they realized their potential for a high level of competition came quickly. The dream of competing in the Olympic Games turned into a probability with each hour of training and competitions won. Camille is more talkative, more accustomed to the media. Her answers are well-crafted. Clément is more reserved. His answers are hesitant. But neither of them shies away. They discuss the celebrity status of Alain Bernard and Laure Manaudou, the debate surrounding the Olympic Games being awarded to China, and the controversy over swimsuits.
Their objectives are different. Camille Muffat aims for an exploit and to win a medal in one of her three events (200 and 400 meters individual medley and relay). Clément Lefert is there to learn. He will only participate in the 4×200 meters freestyle relay. His ambition is to reach the final. He wants to gain experience and already has an eye on the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The two young athletes from Nice eagerly await their arrival in Beijing. They are keen to start their competition, to immerse themselves in their own bubbles for a week to fully enjoy the Olympic Games atmosphere with, hopefully, a medal around their necks.
