Exchange and reflection day at CUM on the occasion of the first day of the regional conference on environment, energy, and the sea.
Representatives from the State, local authorities, the economic sector, research and education, and the associative sector had the opportunity, and will continue to have in subsequent conferences before the closing in October, to define a “new ambition for the environment and green growth.”
For the President of the Region, Christian Estrosi, things are clear: “no to the religion of ecology.” On the contrary, “the environment is an asset for growth and employment.”
For him, “sustainable development must be understood today in its very strongly economic dimension.”
Vice-President Maud Fontenoy led the day. Her belief is not different from that of “her” president: “Ecology can rhyme with economy.” Her ambition? “The PACA Region can become a model of environmental policies.”
She called for “will and perseverance” to achieve this. To this end, all regional stakeholders have been invited to formulate proposals allowing the transition from strategic frameworks to concrete achievements.
See you in October for the directions of the new regional policy.
