Cannes Festival: Flash Mob by BTS Communication Students from Parc Impéria Honoring Indian Cinema

Latest News

On Saturday, May 18 at 1:30 PM and 5 PM, students from the BTS Communication program at Parc Impérial in Nice will participate in a Flash Mob on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Indian cinema, the guest of honor at the Cannes Film Festival.

In Cannes, a Flash Mob will be performed with the presence of professional dancers and students, dressed in the traditional Sari, who will lead the public in dancing to Indian rhythms.

Just steps away from the Palais des Festivals, in front of the Indian pavilion, near the children’s carousel (to the left of the steps), this 6-minute performance will be set to the Bollywood music “Sadi Gali” by Jimmy Shergill. Choreographer Shweta Aggarwal coordinated this performance with the participation of students from the BTS Communication program at Parc Impérial in Nice.

This event will offer a new perspective on India, which is one of the favorite destinations for film shooting. It will be an opportunity to celebrate a milestone in the history of Indian cinema: the first feature film presented to the public in 1913, exactly 100 years ago, “Raja Harishchandra.”

To celebrate this anniversary, the Cannes Film Festival is highlighting the cinema of this country this year.
