The 2012 edition of MIPIM opens this Tuesday, March 6 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. Until March 9, real estate and construction professionals will gather to present their projects and develop their international relations.
Nearly 19,000 participants, including 4,200 international investors, are expected this week at the International Real Estate Professionals Market (MIPIM). For this 23rd edition, with a focus on Germany, developers, architects, consultants, sales representatives, local authorities, and end-users will be able to forge partnerships and make agreements for the development of new projects.
Germany in the Spotlight
Germany, the country of honor at MIPIM 2012, will be the focus of a series of events throughout the event:
-Joschka Fischer, former German foreign minister between 1998 and 2005, will discuss the issues of the European financial crisis, crucial for the future of the real estate sector, during an exceptional conference on Thursday, March 8 at 10 a.m.
-Industry leaders in investment will also partake in the conference program, such as Bernhard Berg, Managing Director of IVG Institutional Funds GMBH, who will share his analysis on the best current investment opportunities with Jean-Michel Six, Chief Economist for Europe at Standard & Poor’s (on March 7 at 2:30 p.m.).
-A conference session organized on March 7 will also review the best investment opportunities in Germany in terms of location and types of assets. The day before, another conference will present successful cooperation models between public and private partners.
-The 2012 MIPIM Awards will also pay tribute to German projects by dedicating a special category to them.
-The MIPIM Opening Party, celebrated in German style, will take place on Tuesday, March 6 from 7:30 p.m. at the Carlton Hotel.
The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis will be represented at MIPIM. The economic development department will showcase the investment and real estate opportunities offered in its territory on projects such as Grand Arénas, Nice Stadium, Nice Méridia, La Baronne, the development of the Thiers and South Stations hub, and the urban renovation projects of the Moulins, Ariane, and Pasteur districts.
