Cannes is hosting its international yachting festival.

Latest News

The yachting sector in the Alpes Maritimes represents a significant economic weight with a turnover of 1.1 billion euros, 3,400 jobs, 730 companies, and 33 marinas.

It is therefore quite naturally that the first in-water yachting show in Europe takes place in Cannes from September 10 to 15, celebrating its 31st anniversary this year. Visitors from around the world can delight in discovering the most beautiful units in preview as well as spectacular second-hand yachts in the magical atmosphere that prevails in the two ports of Cannes.

Located in the heart of the French Riviera, the Festival brings together a prestigious and enchanting lineup. 630 of the world’s most beautiful units are expected in Cannes to be showcased afloat, 250 of which will be exhibited to the public for the first time. In terms of the number of boats displayed, the Festival is now among the three largest shows worldwide.

The Cannes International Yachting Festival is an exceptional business meeting where exhibitors from all sectors (shipyards, services, equipment suppliers, architects, interior decorators, marinas, press, etc.) and visitors from around the world rub shoulders. Among the Festival’s assets, sea trials in the fabulous bay of Cannes are particularly appreciated.

This year again, the show organizers innovate by opening new spaces to accommodate more exhibitors both afloat and on its docks.

For the first time, the Cruise Quay will be open to welcome more than fifteen units afloat over thirty meters, including the Wesport 130, Broward 120, Riva 115 and 92, Pershing 115… and exhibitors on the quay. Located less than 100 meters from the Super Yacht Extension, the Cruise Quay will be accessible only by maritime shuttles.

Among the European leaders in the multihull market, the Festival brings together a very large offering. To improve the visibility of the multihull sector, a new “Traversante” will be installed from the Quai Saint Pierre to the pontoon on which these units are displayed. Consisting of floating pontoons, the Traversante will open to allow boats to have sea trials and will close so visitors can cross the port and continue their visit.

The Pantiero also benefits from the 2008 innovations with a new pontoon for boats from 11 to 17 meters. Twenty units are already positioned in this new location.

Last but not least, the brokers’ sector located at Port Pierre Canto will also host 20 units over 25 meters on a quay situated next to the main entrance. In total, 80 yachts from 25 to 60 meters will be exhibited.

The 2008 edition of the Cannes International Yachting Festival will be an opportunity for lovers of beautiful units to discover sumptuous floating jewels.
