Cantonales: the candidates who have signed Anticor’s Ethical Charter

Latest News

Anticor, the national association for combating corruption, has developed an ethical charter for local authorities that it submits for signature to candidates in the cantonal elections. Nice Premium presented the contents of this charter in an article published on March 1st.

cantocarte-3.jpg At a time when public opinion is very attentive to the behavior of public figures and is even more sensitive to any form of private interest, the voluntary signing of a charter, both as a commitment to ethics and ethical behavior, would have held significant symbolic value for candidates and future elected officials.

The result that Anticor presents is frankly disappointing even though we lack the elements to attribute this outcome to a refusal or a lack of information or awareness. Thus, we stand by it but not without highlighting the negative aspect of this missed opportunity.

On a tour throughout France, Séverine Tessier, the national spokesperson for Anticor, held a press conference in front of the “Jean-François Knecht” school in Nice.

She first paid a heartfelt tribute to Jean-François Knecht, a general councilor from Alpes-Maritimes who passed away four years ago and was a co-founder, along with Jean-Christophe Picard, of Anticor 06.

Séverine Tessier then presented the 11 commitments contained in the Ethical Charter, which aim to establish new practices in order to rehabilitate politics.

Finally, she announced the list of candidates in Alpes-Maritimes who have signed the Ethical Charter:

  • Dominique Boy-Mottard (PRG), candidate in the canton of Nice 7;
  • Montserrat Collet, candidate in the canton of Levens;
  • Chantal Maimon (PRG), candidate in the canton of Mandelieu-Cannes West;
  • Jean-Christophe Picard (PRG), candidate in the canton of Nice 8;
  • Laurent Pratensi (PS), candidate in the canton of Cagnes Centre.
