The Retirement Home for Veterans of the CCAS in Nice welcomes 7 “Demoiselles en fรชte,” students from the IUT of Nice – Napoleon III, who offer a “Carnival Ambiance” show dedicated to the residents and their families.
As part of their studies and with the help of the Blouses Roses, these students have chosen to give their time to the elderly; and instead of just a simple visit, they have chosen to present an intergenerational celebration with a performance composed of songs and dances for the 100 senior residents. A festive snack will follow.
The “Demoiselles en fรชte” Association
The Demoiselles en fรชte, chaired by Marjory, is an association of 7 second-year students in Business Techniques at the IUT of Nice Napoleon III (Universitรฉ Nice-Sophia Antipolis).
As part of their curriculum, they must complete a supervised project on the theme: Knowing how to organize an event.
The demoiselles en fรชte decided to focus on charity work and reached out to the association of the Blouses Roses in Nice.
The Blouses Roses Association
The “Les Blouses Roses” association, created in 1944, is chaired by Bernadette Reeve and represented in Nice by Mrs. Dominique Bouvet and Chantal Levet. It offers creative, artistic, and fun activities for sick and/or elderly people to break the isolation and regain some self-confidence. These volunteers intervene in both hospitals (specific departments and Emergency) and in the retirements homes.
Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 3 PM at the Retirement Home for Veterans, 51 rue des Orangers, Nice.
