Having made nutrition a path to combat exclusion, the Carrefour Foundation is handing over the keys of a new refrigerated vehicle to the Restos du Cœur this Monday, September 22, which it co-financed.
Indeed, thanks to a grant of €15,000, the Restos du Cœur in the Alpes-Maritimes will now be able to collect and distribute fresh and frozen products in a larger number of stores.
Carrefour has been a partner of the Restos du Cœur since 2009 and actively participates in the large annual food collects in March. The brand also organizes donations of food items from its hypermarkets to benefit the departmental branches of the Restos du Cœur.
In 2014, nearly 15 tons were collected during this operation from the 3 stores on the Côte d’Azur (5.5 (6.1) tons in Nice Lingostière, 2.7 (3.8) tons at Carrefour Nice TNL, and 6.7 tons at Carrefour Antibes).
The co-financing of the truck will allow an expansion in the Carrefour and Carrefour Market stores in the region.
Since 2004, the Carrefour Foundation has co-financed 6 vehicles for the Restos du Cœur.
