Carros: an unreleased film about the Pope at Cinéalma

Latest News

In the context of the 11th edition of the festival “Cinéalma, the Soul of the Mediterranean,” which this year shines a particular spotlight on the richness and dynamism of Italian cinema, one of the highlights will be the screening of the film Chiamatemi Francesco (Call Me Francis) by Daniele Luchetti.

This biopic about Pope Francis will be presented for the very first time in France. It should be noted that the film’s subtitles were created by the association Cinéactions, co-organizer of the festival with the city of Carros.

Chiamatemi Francesco: il papa della gente traces the Argentine years of Jorge Bergoglio and the trials he faced during the military dictatorship that shaped him into who he is today. At the end of the screening, a “Skype” connection with Daniele Luchetti (guest of honor at Cinéalma 2016) is planned.

The event provides an opportunity for the audience to interact with the Italian director and learn more about the film’s genesis and behind-the-scenes secrets.

This is an unmissable event, leading up to the festival’s closing and the awards ceremony on Sunday, October 16th, starting at 9:15 PM (buffet offered by the city of Carros at 8:45 PM).
