This Friday, April 19 at 6:30 PM, the international animation film and comics festival, Cartoonist, will be inaugurated at the Palais Acropolis in a preview event before the official opening, attended by officials and all exhibitors and participants.
Cartoonist, the international animation film and comics festival, is back, and it’s in Nice that this essential event for manga enthusiasts will take place on April 20 and 21 at the Palais Acropolis in Nice.
Several shows are planned, including a concert with the greatest Japanese anime singers, conferences with prestigious guests, screenings of new animated films, and no less than 2 hours of shows to select the French representative for the European cosplay contests (the art of dressing up as fictional characters, among others, from manga) whose final will take place in London in October.
Prestigious guests from around the world: manga/comics artist, director, actor, voice actor, singer, composer, producer, screenwriter… more than twenty notable guests from various backgrounds are expected.
The guest of honor is Shiori Teshirogi, author of the successful manga Saint Seiya – The Lost Canvas, a prequel to the iconic manga The Knights of the Zodiac.
Patrick Sobral and Nadou, authors of the comic book “Les Légendaires Origines,” which won the youth prize in 2013 at the Angoulême International Comics Festival, will also be present.
After ten years of absence, Cartoonist returns for a special 20th anniversary edition, certainly exceptional. An unmissable event in the late 90s, during the last edition in Toulon in 2002, the festival brought together no less than 30,000 people, and more than 50,000 in Paris. At least 20,000 people are expected in Nice.
