In 1625, Gio.-Domenico Cassini was born in Perinaldo. In 2009, the Cassini probe orbits around Saturn. Thus, over four centuries, the name Cassini has traveled from the County of Nice to Saturn. From 1670 to 1845, four generations of Cassini led the Academy of Sciences, measured the solar system, and laid the foundations of modern cartography by creating the first geographic map of France.
It is this extraordinary journey from Nice to Saturn that will be recounted, illustrated by the latest images collected around the ringed planet with its 60 known moons, whose mysteries are unveiled revealing some major surprises.
