Catherine Filliol presents her โABC of Herbsโ, an exhibition of photographs of herbs accompanied by philosophical thoughts by Louis Gombaud, at the Serre de la Madone Garden in Menton from June 1 to September 28, 2014.
The exhibition is located in the villa of the Serre de la Madone Garden, overlooking the park. As soon as you enter the house, there is a welcome message from Catherine Filliol, who attempts to establish a connection with her visitor. All the photos are hung on the walls, showcasing images of blades of grass in their primitive and varied forms along with wire. This exhibition takes the stance of the infinitely small.
A for Alphabet. With an alphabet book signed by Louis Gombaud, each photo is accompanied by a thought that encourages the viewer to engage in philosophical reflection on the natural environment that surrounds us daily. These images allow us to see nature from another angle with more details and precision.
B for Beauty. The diversity of the exhibited shots expresses the insignificant beauty of nature in different forms. Angle of view, contrast of light depending on the time of day, depth of fieldโeach shot is unique in this exhibition by Catherine Filliol.
G for Genius. The genius of nature is what the photographer wanted to show visitors by isolating each blade or wire from its context to provide a unique and innovative vision. The unexplained ability to surprise and originality are highlighted at the Serre de la Madone Garden.
