Cédric Roussel (LRM deputy): “The new support for sports is a real breath of fresh air”

Latest News

Cédric Roussel, Member of Parliament for the Alpes-Maritimes, participated, as President of the “Sport Economics” study group at the National Assembly, in the meeting organized by President Emmanuel Macron with key figures in French sports, during which a 400 million euro aid package for the sector was announced.

The newly announced aids are a real breath of fresh air for the field of sports. They address several of the “50 proposals for the revival of French sports” that Cédric Roussel published this summer with over 70 LaREM deputies.

For the deputy: “The President of the Republic has made strong announcements for the sports sector as a whole. I particularly note the creation of the Pass’Sport to help young people and those with disabilities to participate in sports activities. Additionally, the establishment of a compensation fund to limit the ticketing losses of professional sports and the exemption from payroll taxes for professional clubs. These measures should lead us to engage in real reflection to modernize and strengthen our French sports model on an economic and societal level. It is in this spirit that I will continue to support and accompany the French sports movement: amateur, professional, and commercial at the national level as well as here in the Alpes-Maritimes.”
