Thursday, September 29, 2011, at 7 PM, at Centenary Beach – Nice
In the Hebrew calendar, the new year begins on the day of Rosh Hashanah. Rosh Hashanah celebrates the anniversary of the creation of the world and leads to the 10 days of repentance that precede Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. The festival of Rosh Hashanah lasts two days; it is a solemn holiday that allows for reflection on the past year.
On the occasion of the new year 5772, Christian Estrosi, Deputy, Mayor of Nice, President of Nice Côte d’Azur, and Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, as well as Martine Ouaknine, Deputy Mayor for Legal Affairs and Public Service Delegations, will attend the ceremony organized at Centenary Beach. It will be an opportunity for them to extend their benevolent wishes to the Jewish community of Nice, as well as those of France and Israel.
This participation aligns with the spirit of tolerance and dialogue fostered in our city, allowing everyone to practice their faith in peace and freedom.
