Born on the fascinating plains of Connemara, Celtic Legends is a distillation of traditional Irish culture. Young artists from Galway, Dublin, Belfast… combine for two hours the impetuous tempo of tap dancing, the grace of dance, the frenetic rhythm of music, and the bucolic melody of Irish ballads.
Traditional and unique in the world, Irish “Tap Dance” loses its origin in the mists of history but not its soul. Ask an Irish person, and they will recount its history for you, although it will surely be different from that of their neighbor.
Traditional too are the musical instruments: Bodhran, penny whistle, fiddle, uileann pipes… all creating a colorful, rhythmic, vibrant, volcanic show that has already thrilled more than 700,000 people in 4 years.
Supported by an orchestra of 5 young and talented musicians under the baton of Fergal O’Murchu, the dancers of Celtic Legends perform on the choreography of Ger Hayes, who in another life, was a dancer and then lead dancer in the show Lord of the Dance.
