In the context of the commemorations of the Centenary of the First World War, the Louis Nucéra Library is hosting an exhibition entitled “The Most Beautiful Summer of the Century, from Sarajevo to the Marne,” which will take place from June 28 to September 9.

The exhibition revisits the causes of the war, from the Balkan crisis to the strengthening of alliances, from the rise of patriotism to the desire to maintain peace.

It recounts the early days of the conflict up to the halt of the German advance during the First Battle of the Marne. It also evokes the Belle Époque of summer 1914 with its musical environment and points of interest.

Finally, it presents testimonies and fictional writings from this pivotal period.

This presentation allows for showcasing the rich heritage collections of the BMVR of Nice. It is complemented by loans from private collectors.

From July 1 to August 31:

Tuesday to Saturday from 1 PM to 6 PM.

Starting September 1:: Tuesday-Wednesday 10 AM-7 PM / Thursday-Friday 2 PM-7 PM / Saturday 10 AM-6 PM
