CGT Protest in Front of PS Federation 06: An Employee Injured and a Complaint Filed

Latest News

This has got to stop… Yesterday afternoon, CGT activists stormed in front of the Socialist Party federation of Alpes-Maritimes. They demanded to be received, “but neither we nor the police had been informed of this action,” said Xavier Garcia, secretary of PS06.

Only the two employees and municipal councilor Christine Dorejo, who was passing by, were present at that time.

The two employees were quickly confronted and threatened. One of them was hit by a firecracker, and subsequently lost hearing in one ear and suffered from severe headaches, and was taken to see a doctor. The other, a 22-year-old, terrorized by the insults, physical threats, firecracker throwing, and violent knocking on the door, was in a state of shock.

Xavier Garcia condemns these actions: “Such behavior towards two employees, especially since they are women, is completely unacceptable, particularly from people belonging to a major union like the CGT. Needless to say, these actions will not go unanswered, and a complaint will be filed.”

These acts follow others from a few weeks ago when another incursion of CGT activists ended with the walls and windows of the socialist federation being tagged.

Once is already too much, twice is unacceptable!

The leaders of this union must quickly regain control over these agitators before the situation escalates and they themselves become “accomplices.”

Playing with fire will get you burned!

Should we remind these rioters of J.S. Mill’s treatise on liberty, which so well defines personal, civil, and social freedom concerning free will, which seems to be the motto of these petty chiefs without legitimacy?

Otherwise, we should reflect on a maxim by Charles Darwin, the father of evolutionism: “Humans are animals, but animals are not people.”
