Making health a major focus for improvement and quality of life for the residents of Nice is the new goal of the city of Nice.
The launch of the project “Challenge for a Nice Life,” presented at the Mamac Museum in Nice, brought together large corporations, start-ups, and associations from the fields of research and education to work together and finance the challenges of the region in terms of health and solidarity.
This initiative is closely aligned with the Regional Interest Operations initiated by Christian Estrosi in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, which includes the development of the connected health and Silver economy sectors in Nice, supported by ECHAlliance.
The launch of the “Challenge for a Nice Life” provided financial partners the opportunity to present their motivations and the projects they wish to fund.
At the heart of the project are four major areas that companies must address: support for caregivers, support for autonomy in the face of aging, post-attack mental health, cancer, preventive medicine, and chronic diseases.
In response to these various challenges, the goal of the present large and prestigious companies such as Uber, AG2R la Mondiale, Canceropôle, Fondation de France, Berger Levlaut, and Microsoft is to provide funding and concrete solutions to make life easier for the most vulnerable people while respecting their areas of expertise. All of this is achieved by working hand in hand with associations or even individuals ready to offer effective solutions.
The mobility challenge, for example, was addressed. Uber aims to provide solutions and offers special assistance for people with reduced mobility with drivers specifically trained to best assist this segment of the population.
Other major players in technology, education, and research are contributing to the project as well.
This initial meeting is just the beginning of a busy schedule, as the challenge envisions five more meetings where gradually projects and solutions will be presented to address the societal issues of the initiative.
