The association “Les Amis de Lacassagne” is organizing, with the gracious assistance of Mr. Richard Galliano, this Friday, January 17 at 8 PM in the Amphitheater of the National Conservatory of Regional Influence*, a charity concert featuring an eclectic program, constructed on-site with the involvement of the audience.

galliano.jpg Richard Galliano is undoubtedly the most well-known French musician in the world. His recognition is founded not only on the range of registers he covers but also on the quality of the illustrious performers alongside whom he plays, all supported by an especially abundant discography released by the most prestigious labels, covering all areas of music in which he is involved.

As a child, he probably experienced emotion for the first time during the screening of the movie “La Strada,” a pure melody, sometimes happy, sometimes melancholic; the spark that most certainly contributed to shaping his life.

With him, the accordion breaks free from the minor mode in which it seems trapped, becoming a soloist or expressing itself among strings, winds, and brass, weaving note after note the rehabilitation of the instrument.

Astor Piazzolla, the Argentine, the genius, the model, the friend, the creator of the “New Tango,” suggested he tackle the “New Musette.” Although he had long “forgotten” the genre, Richard Galliano decides with unparalleled determination to revisit the traditional repertoire of Musette, Java, and Tango, and releases a manifesto album that earns him the Django-Reinhardt prize from the Jazz Academy, which honors him as the French musician of the year.

In summary, Richard Galliano is a complete Artist to whom we owe film scores, TV show themes, covers intended to honor friends or major works, and laudatory creations glorifying this or that of his “heroes.”
