Last night, in the presence of Daniel Benchimol, Deputy for Public Health representing the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, and Philippe Soussi, Deputy of the “West-Coastal” territory, the four members of The Low Budget Men, along with the famous backup singer Doreen Chanter, performed at the Théâtre de Verdure in Nice.
A local rock band whose primary mission was to raise funds to finance the purchase of defibrillators through the association 20,000 Vies.

The association, created four years ago by Dr. Claude Mariottini – the band’s guitarist/singer –, and Philippe Soussi, sponsored by the comedian Gérard Rinaldi who passed away this year, aims to promote the distribution of defibrillators in France and raise awareness among the population about emergency procedures to save lives.
20,000 Vies reminds that every year in France, 60,000 people die from a cardio-respiratory arrest. Every minute lost decreases the chance of survival by 10%. The only chance of survival for a cardiac arrest victim is to receive defibrillation in the minutes following their collapse.

For The Low Budget Men, music is a passion shared for a long time, and putting it to the benefit of saving lives seems to the group suddenly very natural, almost logical.
With the renowned guitarist of Chris Rea’s, Paul Casey as an opening act, and The Low Budget Men, the Théâtre de Verdure took on a rock atmosphere, vibrating to the sound of the group’s electric guitar riffs.

Between each set, a heartfelt tribute was paid to Gérard Rinaldi, in the form of a video clip produced by France 3 – concert and association 20,000 Vies partner –, where excerpts from Michel Drucker’s show he had participated in were shown, as well as some Low Busget concerts, in which he was part of the choir.
The proceeds from the concert were used for the purchase of 10 new defibrillators, already installed in Nice.
Furthermore, the city of Nice, led by Christian Estrosi, actively supports the association 20,000 Vies and provides it with a subsidy of 1500 €.
