jean_dube.jpg Jean Dubé, 29 years old, is internationally recognized as one of the most important young pianists of our time, and he was the youngest graduate in the entire history of the Nice Conservatory.

He is appreciated for his musicality and power. He has performed worldwide since the age of 4 and won his Steinway piano at nine years old during the national “Young Prodigies Mozart in Paris” competition.
His discography already includes about thirty recordings, with around twenty CDs, particularly with Syrius and Naxos, and several concert DVDs for French television and other foreign radio and television stations.

He is one of the few pianists in the world capable of playing Ligeti’s piano concerto and performing Messiaen’s “Twenty Views on the Infant Jesus” in a single recital.
Awarded First Prize at the National Superior Conservatory of Paris at 14 years old under Jacques Rouvier, he studied extensively with Jacqueline Robin and took a year of classes with John O’Conor in Dublin.

Winner of the Ouistreham Riva 2009 European Piano Competition, which also awarded him the Chopin Association Prize in Nohant, he also won the First Grand Prize unanimously at the Franz Liszt Competition in Utrecht 2002, among other international competitions (Brive-la-Gaillarde, Bucharest, Messiaen, Yvonne Lefébure Scholarship Orléans 20th Century).

Invited as a jury member for international competitions (Pinerolo 2004, Poulenc 2008, Chang Chun 2009), he also gives master classes (Finland, Hungary, Netherlands, Ecuador, Ethiopia, South Africa, China).

He performs on all continents as a soloist, in chamber music formations, and with many major orchestras.
He is currently recording Liszt’s piano works on CD and DVD video for C.E.A. Musika.

The program features the great works of Franz Liszt, European composer Jean Dubé is one of the best interpreters of Franz Liszt (1811 – 1886) and also a great connoisseur of his repertoire.

For this evening, he proposes a program based on the great works of the composer, but he also wishes to illustrate his profoundly European nature through compositions where he successively represents Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, and France.
