The President of the Alpes-Maritimes Department, Charles Ange Ginésy, learned of the passing of his former vice-president at the Valberg Intercommunal Syndicate. Charles Durandy was also the first deputy mayor of the town of Guillaumes for two terms.

Charles Ange Ginésy reacted to this sad news yesterday, in a press release. He described the former elected official as an “inseparable figure of the town of Guillaumes, the Valberg resort, Alpes d’Azur, and more broadly of the Alpes-Maritimes.”

The loss of a friend

The President of the Alpes-Maritimes Department was full of praise for the one he considered his “friend.” He had supported him politically. He was “a generous being, unpretentious, driven by the desire to do more than to appear. One always felt invigorated after spending time with him.”

Unwavering loyalty

Charles Durandy received the medal of the Valberg Intercommunal Syndicate and the regional, departmental, and communal medal of honor on August 15, for his commitment to the region.

Alongside the mayor of Guillaumes, his deputy devoted himself to improving the lives of the residents. In Valberg, he managed the financial aspects, handled both technical and administrative tasks, and was not afraid to take a stand.

Attached to his town, Charles Durandy was part of one of the oldest families in Guillaumes and the County of Nice. His loyalty was evident in his work, in which he put all his heart. He appreciated public service.

His love for nature

This generous man was also committed to the protection of nature. As the former president of the departmental association “Green Region,” the environment was a subject close to his heart.

Sincere condolences

Charles Ange Ginésy highlights the skills and dedication of his former right-hand man. He extends his “most sincere and very saddened” condolences to his wife Martine and his entire family.
