Charles-Ange Ginésy visiting the IRFSS Croix-Rouge in Nice: “count on us to meet your aspirations”

Latest News

Last Friday, the president of the Alpes-Maritimes department, Charles-Ange Ginésy, visited the regional institute of health and social training (IRFSS) Croix-Rouge in Nice. It was an opportunity to meet the teaching staff, students, and to express the department’s support for them.

After touring the institute’s facilities and equipment, the department president spoke to some students and teachers, in the presence of Sandrine Buston, the director of IRFSS Croix-Rouge in Nice.

“Rely on us to ensure that during your training, we can make financial efforts to modernize your equipment. […] Rely on our help to try and meet your aspirations,” he began by saying, before affirming that, although the department does not have all the expertise in the field of health, the community is committed to supporting it to the fullest extent.

As part of the department’s smart deal policy, the president spoke about the necessity of helping the institute go even further in modernizing their building, as technology has profoundly changed the way health professions are taught.

The health project calls initiated in 2008 to support and highlight health professionals in the 06 area are also part of the department’s support for the health sector.

“An essential center in our region”

This institute represents an “essential center of training and employment in our region,” according to the director of IRFSS. With its four locations (in Aix en Provence, Marseille, Ollioules, and Nice), the institute trains around 2700 learners annually in long-term programs. These students are trained to become nurses, stretcher-bearers, nursing assistants, health executives, or gerontology care assistants.

The Nice site, located on Cap-de-Croix Avenue, is affiliated with the Red Cross and its values, such as humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and unity.

Tiphanie Séverin, a third-year nursing student, shared her experience as a student at the IRFSS Croix-Rouge in Nice, describing the training as “very enriching and formative.” “Throughout my years of learning, I benefited from personalized, caring, helpful, and attentive support. I received humane training focused on essential values that will be indispensable throughout my career,” she said in front of a lecture hall filled with students and teachers.
