Yesterday, the Deputy Mayor of Péone-Valberg and President of the National Association of Mayors of Mountain Resorts (ANMSM), Charles Ange Ginésy, welcomed the Minister of the City, Youth and Sports, Patrick Kanner, at the Valberg resort.
This visit is part of the national campaign for mountain accident prevention called “So that the mountain remains a pleasure,” organized by the Ministry of the City, Youth and Sports, along with its partners, particularly the ANMSM.
This campaign aims to promote good behavior in the mountains and to raise awareness among all participants about the main safety guidelines to follow on the slopes.
The minister met with young volunteers in civic service, deemed essential levers of citizenship.
Nearly 100,000 young people engaged in civic service in 2016. The target for 2017 is set at 150,000.
In the Alpes-Maritimes department, 2,100 young people signed a civic service contract between 2010 and 2016, with a significant increase in the number of volunteers over the last two years.
