Chef for a Day in the Gardens of Cimiez

This afternoon at 2:30 PM, the gardens of Cimiez will host the second final of the “Chef for a Day” Niรงoise cuisine contest organized by the city of Nice. Who will join Linda Serravalle and Claude Tordo in the grand finale?

Following the sweet chard pie, another emblem of Niรงoise cuisine will be the basis of this final: the Pan Bagnat. Eight candidates will be at the starting line, but only one will be declared “Chef for a Day” and of territory 3.

For this, a panel of experts will dissect the dishes as well as the candidates by testing their knowledge of Niรงoise cuisine, especially this recipe synonymous with the seaside and good times with family and friends. The jury will include Laurence Duperthuy (Variations gourmandes and Notes de cuisine), two certified “Cuisine Nissarde” restaurateurs Sara Issautier (Lou Balico) Daniel Silvetti (Chef of Lu Fran Calin), chef Marc Chevalier (Le Petit Gari), historian and member of Lou Sougentin Alex Benvenuto, Franรงois-Xavier Michaud (culinary professor at Paul Augier), Stan Palomba (Nice la Belle), Denis Bensa (Nissart per Tougiou), Jean-Luc Gag (municipal councilor), and Bernard Baudin (Territory Deputy).

Who among Nathalie, Florine, Karine, Tess, Jacques, or Franck will manage to convince or even amaze the jury members?
