This Tuesday marked the inauguration of Nice’s central kitchen, the first in France to be 100% zero plastic. Located at the heart of the Eco Valley, the new central kitchen is now operational, five years ahead of required standards.

This ambitious project, with a budget of more than 32 million, was built on a 13,000m² plot owned by the city and covers an area of 5,400m².

Featuring a vegetable preparation area, a pastry section, and an educational space, the central kitchen will provide “a better environment for children with a capacity of 30,000 meals per day,” explains Christian Estrosi, “that’s 6,000 more meals than before.”
