A popular treasure of local heritage, the chestnut is celebrated throughout the fall. “Le Goût de Nice” offers family-friendly and sociable events this Saturday to rediscover the chestnut, the myriad ways to enjoy it, and the remarkable expertise of the professionals who enhance this unique fruit.
In front of the shop window, chestnut roasters will be set up, and passersby will be invited to taste local chestnuts. Visitors will be encouraged to discover culinary recipes featuring chestnuts and to sample the many products made from chestnuts. Polenta cooked in a cauldron will also be offered for tasting.
Professionals from the Azurean chestnut industry, members of the Châtaigneraie Tinée-Vésubie Agricultural Land Association (AFA), will be present to showcase their work and the fruits of their beautiful craft to both young and old.
A “photobooth” station will be set up, allowing visitors to leave with a keepsake. Musical entertainment and face-painting workshops will also be available.
