Organized in partnership with the Alliance Franรงaise of Hangzhou and the city of Nice, the Nice Hangzhou Chinese Film Week aims to introduce Chinese cinema to the French public, and especially to freely broadcast animated films to young audiences during school holidays.

For 17 years, the city of Nice has been twinned with the city of Hangzhou. Thanks to this twinning, many projects have been realized.

Thus, in October 2014, the city of Hangzhou, in collaboration with the city of Nice, organized the first Chinese film week at the Nice cinematheque.

The Hangzhou Chinese Film Week aims to introduce the French public to the remarkable rise of Chinese cinema and, through it, the richness and complexity of a rapidly transforming China.

Building on its success, the second edition of this Hangzhou Chinese Film Week is taking place at the Parc Phoenix in the city of Nice. This event aims to strengthen our exchanges in the field of cinema and audiovisual.

After its opening over the weekend, the festival will continue this week, concluding on Thursday.

As Hangzhou is the city in China hosting the largest number of short and feature film shoots, it was natural for the twinning between the two cities to lead to an exchange centered around cinema.
