“Chocolate, the Challenges of a Delicacy”

Latest News

Exhibition until Sunday at the Maison de la Nature – Parc de la Grande Corniche

Cocoa, this delicious spice originating from Central America, has conquered the world.

Today, it provides a livelihood for nearly 6 million small producers in tropical countries. However, the industry remains inequitable. The protection of the tropical rainforest, threatened by these crops, requires support from public policies and international aid.

From the cultivation and trade of cocoa to the transformation and consumption of chocolate around the world, the exhibition, featuring 10 detailed panels, traces the journey of these highly sought-after beans, while also shedding light on the ecological impact on the planet and highlighting an economic reality that is not always fair for cocoa farmers.
