-PREVENTION OF DELINQUENCY: « Reminder to Order »
The law of March 5, 2007, makes the Mayor the central figure in the prevention of delinquency. Since the beginning of his term, Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, who has already undertaken numerous actions in this field, is determined to continue his commitment.
He therefore wishes to develop the Reminder to Order, a tool available to mayors which allows them to summon any citizen who has committed acts on the territory of the municipality that may harm public order, safety, security, or sanitation, to remind them that they certainly have rights but also duties, and to explain the risks incurred when one breaks the law.
Aiming to systematize this Reminder to Order to more effectively combat the misdemeanors committed by minors, the Mayor of Nice and his First Deputy in charge of security will receive tomorrow families summoned following the reprehensible acts committed by their children.
Afterwards, a press briefing will be organized to provide an update on this effective measure, which allows for the detection of problems and the ability to react as early as possible when a security incident occurs.
This will be an opportunity to discover, in detail, this tool and its excellent outcomes, contributing to the reduction in cases of recidivism.
