While he had taken the initiative to organize the first National Meetings of Municipal Police in Nice last June, in agreement with union representatives and various public safety stakeholders, Christian Estrosi has just been appointed as a member of the Advisory Commission on Municipal Police.
Announced by Claude Guéant, Minister of the Interior, Overseas Territories, Local Authorities, and Immigration, at the conclusion of these meetings, this commission was reactivated to make progress on the armament, status, and bonuses of municipal police officers.
The decree appointing the members of the advisory commission on municipal police was published in the Official Journal on August 6, 2011, and Christian Estrosi was proposed by the Association of Mayors of France and appointed by the Minister under the category for mayors of cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants.
“I am pleased for the City of Nice, which has the largest municipal police force in France, to be part of this commission whose objective is to further improve the working and statutory conditions of municipal police officers, to whom I give my full support and confidence in the daily exercise of their often delicate missions,” stated Christian Estrosi.
