Christian Estrosi calls for the immediate abandonment of the school rhythm reform.

Christian Estrosi, in his capacity as Vice-President of the Association of Mayors of France and Deputy Mayor of Nice, supports the teachers, school staff, and parents who continue today to express their serious concerns about the school rhythm reform imposed by the Government.

rythmes_ecole.jpg A national inter-union strike of teachers, facilitators, and territorial agents will take place this Thursday, November 14, with a gathering from 10 a.m. at Place Garibaldi. Since caps seem to be in fashion, one wonders what color they will be. It is not yet known if the Mayor of Nice will be present and participate.

However, 31 mayors of the Metropolis municipalities have already co-signed Christian Estrosi’s appeal. Wasn’t the future president at its creation defining this new community as a community of destiny and an orchestra that would play the same score? Promise kept!

He was then a prophet, an experienced politician knowing well that it is he who holds the baton that strikes the attack, the rhythm, and the tone for the orchestra. The musicians follow the movement, and the whole plays right and well.

For the record:

At the start of the 2012 school year, the Mayor of Nice wanted to question all members of the educational community who, by more than 80%, massively rejected this reform in the interest of the students. Christian ESTROSI then refused to implement the four-and-a-half-day week for the start of the 2013 school year in the 161 schools in Nice. “The difficulties encountered by the municipalities that chose to implement this reform this year have shown how right we were not to do so in Nice,” emphasizes the Deputy Mayor.

These difficulties have been confirmed by the working groups (bringing together teachers, parents, facilitators, unions,…) that have worked throughout the year with Professor André GIORDAN, President of the monitoring committee set up by the Deputy Mayor of Nice at the end of 2012.

The first school councils, which are meeting at this time and dealing with this reform, all reaffirm their total opposition to the implementation of the new school week organization.

For the Mayor of Nice: “The Government can no longer remain deaf to the concerns of families and all those who today express themselves in a single interest, that of our children.”
