Christian Estrosi criticizes the government again

Latest News

On the occasion of the city’s prize-giving ceremony for high school graduates with “highest honors,” Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, opened a new chapter of controversy with the Ayrault government.

“The government is preparing a project aimed at eliminating merit-based scholarships. If such a measure is taken, I commit to creating a municipal scholarship for all students who meet the current criteria (parents not taxable and highest honors) and who will no longer be eligible with the scholarship reform.

I want to enable all those who excel to succeed in the most beautiful of journeys. Merit has meaning. It guarantees a balanced society through the recognition of commitment and hard work.”

Certainly, relations between the Mayor of Nice and the current Government are not going well.

We are now keenly awaiting Eric Ciotti’s comments during the same ceremony for the students of the department.
