The party’s high authority had annulled the elections of January 30th, deeming the vote “tainted by irregularities”.
Yesterday, the 12,600 registered voters had to reelect the departmental president of their party: it was evidently just a formality since, thanks to internal agreements, the candidate was unopposed and was none other than Christian Estrosi.
The Mayor of Nice and president of the Metropolis obtained a majority that, in the past and in other contexts, would have been described as “Bulgarian”: 88.05%. The voter turnout was 42.8% with 647 blank ballots.
