The Monitoring Committee has once again rejected the new decree from Minister Benoรฎt Hamon, just as it had done with that of his predecessor, Vincent Peillon. The Minister’s relaxations failed to sway the opposition of the experts consulted by Christian Estrosi.

The future? No follow-up…
“I therefore take note of this position. The representatives of the educational community in Nice do not want this decree. I will continue to follow their advice and will not implement this reform at the start of the 2014 school year!” said the mayor of Nice
The rebellion? No rebellion:
“At this stage, I wish for the school councils to be convened again so that they can decide on the next steps” says the mayor of Nice again.
Ultimately, the reflections of the monitoring committee give Christian Estrosi the motivation for an exercise in which he excels, opposing the government: “I continue to ask the Prime Minister, the Minister of National Education, and the Inspector of the Academy, to allow Mayors to freely choose whether or not to implement the reform of school rhythms.”
But why continue to ask to choose when the choice has been made long ago?
