The mayor of Nice visited the Student House to address the questions of young residents of Nice.
Students are bearing the brunt of the current health crisis. Isolated, in precarious situations, they face numerous challenges. For several weeks, the city of Nice has intensified its support policy for students by implementing several actions to optimize their working conditions during these difficult times.
But Christian Estrosi wanted to reaffirm his support. Indeed, the mayor of Nice went to the Student House to talk with several young residents. “I thank them for receiving us. They show a spirit of conviviality, even though the situation is very difficult for them,” noted Christian Estrosi.
In this approach, the mayor was notably accompanied by Graig Monetti, deputy for youth, social cohesion, and professional integration, Mireille Barral, general director of CROUS Nice-Toulon, and Amaury Baudoux, president of the Federation of Student Associations and Corporations of the Alpes-Maritimes (FACE 06).
Promoting Professional Integration
After touring the premises, Christian Estrosi took into account the remarks of the young residents of Nice. “The University of Nice has 45,000 students,” noted the mayor of Nice. “But they are 45,000 different individuals. I want us to work by treating each one for who they are, for their merits, their faith, and their future.”
During this visit, Christian Estrosi was particularly interested in one specific issue: professional integration. Many students nearing graduation are experiencing great difficulties in finding internships due to the health situation. It is a significant problem. Christian Estrosi therefore promised to meet with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to try to find solutions.
Before leaving the premises, the mayor addressed one last message to the students: “You are not alone. We are Nice, we are a family.” A message of hope for a better future, as wished by all the students of Nice.
